Inhibiting ZFYVE28 for insulin resistance

Inhibiting the early endosome-localized zinc finger protein ZFYVE28 could help treat insulin resistance by preventing ZFYVE28’s promotion of phosphorylated insulin receptor degradation and inhibition of insulin receptor recycling.

Compared with non-obese individuals, peripheral blood ZFYVE28 gene expression was lower in insulin-sensitive obese patients, but higher in insulin-resistant obese patients.
