SNX8 overexpression for lysosomal storage diseases

Overexpressing the membrane curvature-inducing protein SNX8 could help treat a broad range of genetic lysosomal storage diseases by improving lysosome tubulation.

A screen of nine SNX family proteins containing a membrane curvature-inducing BAR domain identified SNX8 as colocalized with lysosome tubules, and cell-based studies confirmed the role of SNX8 in lysosomal tubule formation.
