Inhibiting Factor XII for diabetic kidney disease

Inhibiting the protease Factor XII could help treat diabetic kidney disease by preventing interactions with its receptor uPAR and co-receptor CD29, and thus decreasing DNA damage and senescence in kidney tubular cells.
