Targeting macrophage lipid uptake for miscarriage

Targeting macrophage CD36, a cell surface receptor that mediates lipid uptake, could help prevent miscarriage by decreasing the transfer of the lipid arachidonic acid from stromal cells into macrophages, and subsequent production of the inflammatory proteins COX2 and PGE2.
