Targeting a CGRP-RAMP1-nociceptor axis for endometriosis
Inhibiting the interaction between the neuropeptide CGRP, which is produced by pain sensory neurons known as nociceptors, and its coreceptor RAMP1 on macrophages, could help treat endometriosis by preventing impairment of efferocytosis by peritoneal macrophages, decreasing endometrial lesion growth and its associated pain.
